EDIT: Do not get confused over GZDoom's Default Weapon Drop Hotkey! This mod has own drop key and the default keybind is X! The slot limit will break otherwise!

This is Netronian Chaos, A Gameplay Mod for Doom 2 that replaces all the weapon and enemy roster into fun and cartoony ones. I firstly doodled the concept back in 2008, then began the project circa 2012. Released the first version in 2017!

And here's the feature this mod has:

  • Collect over 24 weapons and scud through the enemies with various strategies!
  • Satisfy your eardrums with powerfully edited high quality anime sound effects!
  • Observe all the assets made out of Microsoft MS Paint scribbles!
  • Feel the dropping-da-bomb power of Sparkplug Bomb. Activate Item Key(Default is Enter) to plant!
  • The Addon, Netronian Chaos: Coup de Main provides extra 8 Useful Weapons, and 17 Challenging Enemies!
  • You can control your movement in mid-air. Bid farewell, frustrating GZDoom platforming!
  • Take a load off with the RNG Crate, spawned from dead Bosses! They might reward you with something big and beautiful.
  • Enemies are rather smarter than average Doom enemies. Make sure you pickup the right weapon in the right situation.

  • Migrated the short but powerful map pack, Netronian Chaos: Bungle in the Jungle! Provides over 6 custom maps to enjoy and blast through the evil Netronian forces! But beware... Some fights are going to be hella challenging!
  • Be sure to check out  the Addon that only replaces doom enemy into the mod's, Wave Attack!! You can play other weapon mods or level pack with it.)

For more information and the Credit, please check out FullCredits.txt included in the main mod file.

NOTICE: Make sure you update your GZDoom! And speaking of GZDoom, it only runs on GZDoom. Remember that!

Btw i'm not responsible for awkward errors and stuff after playing the game along with other doom mods. It should be played with no other mods but official ones.

And Netronian Chaos: Friendly Greens is a Patch for another IWAD called Chex Quest.

(Maps i played for screenies are from Back to Saturn X: Episode 2)

incredible ! I recommend mixing this mod with Auger Zenith, a cyberpunk style map mod that fits like a glove

Love the art style of this mod, and the additional enemy pack - as I've been looking for a good one for a while that isn't just more demons. I find it very endearing, something about the voice lines bring that comical Henry Stickmin vibe to the security and officers, and the 'origin' story if you will of the Netronians on the zdoom forum reminded me of my doodling days in class, haha.

School doodles… That’s what all started Netronian Chaos, of course. And i’m so glad you like my silly Doom TC! Thank you very much!!

You have a really bad habit of uploading updates but not changing the version number whatsoever. I literally have 4 copies of "CJs_Netronian_Chaos_v3.4" and 5 copies of "CJs_NCCoupdeMain" and each one is a different version.

I usually don’t change the version’s number unless the update is considered huge(see my other mod Rebel Rumble, which the number got higher). Technically not a habit but mindset of mine of being less clutter-y, to the point it makes each version rather confusing.

Sorry for your inconvenience. But i certainly will keep that in mind from now on.

haha it's alright, just something I've noticed with your releases. i'm a bit of a data hoarder, especially when it comes to modifications and rare games so structure and versioning is important to me just for the sake of clarity, but is most likely a lot less important to most other people.

I am currently binge-playing several of your mods right now (Netronian Chaos, Rebel Rumble, GMOTA, Combined Arms Gaiden) and I am all enjoying them very much!

One small issue I have with Netronian Chaos at the moment: having turned on the Weapon Vacuum option, I get to see the warning message every time the level starts. It is a bit annoying, really.

Thank you so much for playing my mod, and informing the issue. I’ve updated the mod once again!
